At The Meaning Place, we don’t pretend to know the Truth.
Rev Joshua Reeves- Minister
Yes, we love to speculate about what Truth is, and we do, through exploring the wisdom of religion, psychology, mythology, and pop-culture, but we ultimately accept that the truth is always more than what we think it is. We believe the truth is not easily told. It is not something defined or conceived, that can be legislated through religious beliefs and morality, nor can it be limited to scientific theories. The truth is something we experience. At the Meaning Place, we believe that the Truth is experienced and embodied by the individual, in her own time, in her own way, and in her own affairs. Yes, there is truth in our religions, but ultimately, we at The Meaning Place feel the truth is something best served in our everyday life, by way of the meaning brought to us through our relationships, our careers, our art, and even our favorite song.
At the Meaning Place we advocate spiritual living, wherein we do not just experience the Truth in texts or in church, but in our achievements, our challenges, and in what we love to do. What Jesus says, what Buddha says, what the Beatles’ sang, and what you have to say, we believe, carries great merit, and that no one’s word or life or teaching, should be avoided, for wisdom has more than one voice, and meaning speaks with more than words.
To sum up what we are to you as simply as I can--The Meaning Place is about sincere and conscious living. We are a spiritual community dedicated to services that might inspire a deeper experience of meaning in your life. Whether you are seeking to embody a deeper meaning in your relationship with the Divine, or with your lover, or with your children, or in a current event, The Meaning Place is a space for you, striving to be judgmental of no one, to accept all as equal no matter their religion, gender, sexual orientation, or age, and hopefully to have fun. Community, church, gathering, whatever you want to call it, we believe that coming together is a sacrament. We have services to connect with the like mind and hearted and to support one and other in growing even deeper into our understanding and experience of this thing called life.
PEACE
